Guide Trips

Floating the Colorado River or the Roaring Fork River, is truly the best way to fish our valley, while enjoying the scenery and wild life. We will cover about 3 to 10 miles, depending on the length of the trip you desire. This will put you through private ranches that the wade angler will never fish. Being an independent guide, all your flies and tackle are always included in my prices, so there are no surprises at the end of the day. I pride myself on the best guide lunches you will ever have. Have a request….I can accommodate your every wish.   Just part of the reason, I’ve been voted People’s Choice, “GUIDE OF THE YEAR” multiple times and Big time, Elevation Outdoor Magazine’s  “Best of the Rockies” “2019 Best Guide” for a 6 state area.  This includes Rafting, Skiing, Climbing, hunting, etc.”  Thank you for all of my clients support.  It is appreciated.  There is a huge difference between saying you are the best, and 6 states saying  yup, you are the best of the best.  Plus my prices are still the best in the valley!

  • 1/2 day float trip  $450,
  • 3/4 day float trip $550,
  • full day float trip with lunch included is $650.
  • **All prices include one or two anglers.**

Our guided wade trips can be geared to 1-3 people per guide. 1/2. 3/4, or full day. We have some outstanding honey holes that we would love to share with you in both public and private waters. If you want a trophy fish, like the 15 and 19 pounders shown in the photo gallery book your trip to the Bar ZX with us. For the most part, the fish start at 3 pounds and have exceeded 20 lbs. You should have a very good chance of landing a trout that weights 6+ pounds. Experience is not necessary, and once again, all your flies and tackle are included.

We offer fly fishing lessons for 1-8 people.  We can start from ground zero, and learn all the basics in a classroom fashion.  Building knowledge as we go.  This course is designed to explain what the difference is in fly fishing and spin fishing, why they are similar and what makes them different.  Learn about the equipment, some basic knots, different flies, and a short course about entomology (the bugs).  We start working on perfecting our casts, and then go to the river to read the water (where are the fish right now) , how to make a good presentation cast, etc.  This course can be for 2 hours to 2 days.  You just tell us what you want to learn, and how many people there will be.  The prices are similarly priced to the wade fishing.  Please call for details
