One of our favorite places to fly fish is on a private ranch located near the base of Mount Sopris in Carbondale, Colorado. This is one of the Rocky Mountain Angling Clubs properties that we have access to. As they say, “it is one of the most premier properties in Colorado.” It has 3/4 of a mile of the Roaring Fork River to access, but it’s all about the 2 miles of spring creeks that run through the property. These creeks are teaming with trout in the 1 to 3 pound range, that are eager to take your fly. There is always an occasional chance of some trout that are much larger. This is an awesome place for the person who has never fished before, as well as the avid angler. Bring your camera for sure. There is a rod fee per angler to fish this property, that is worth every penny.
