Fly Fishing around Glenwood Spring

August 8th, Due to our fantastic winter snow pack, all of our rivers, the Roaring Fork River, the Colorado Rivers, as well as the Frying Pan River, and the Crystal River are running about 10 to 20 percent above the seasonal averages, for both July and now into August.  This has made for some just incredible fly fishing.  The higher flows provide cooler water temperatures and better holding water for the fish, a big advantage to the angler.  At any given point of the day, a hatch is happening.  Midges, Blue Wing Olives, Pale Morning Duns, Red Quills, Caddis, Etc.  The fishing is crazy good all day, and epic the last 2 hours of the day.  Thus, in July, we added a new Happy Hour trip.  We’ll meet you about 2 1/2 hours before sunset, and  fly fish those magic hours.  This is the magic hour for some incredible dry fly fishing.  You can play all day, have an early diner, and come land some fish and watch the sunset.  It just doesn’t get any better than that.  Additionally, if you want your 2 happy hours at a different time, we can make that happen.  What’s your schedule?   10 to 12,  1 to 3, you tell us what you want to do, and how it fits your day, not ours. If you have ever wanted to learn how to fly fish, now is the time.   Additionally, our trophy trout trip to the Bar ZX is really fishing great. Come join the fun, and book us now.
